Insurance & Vein Care:
We understand that navigating insurance policies can be a bit confusing, but we’re here to help you through it. After your initial consultation with your vein care specialist at Region Vein, we’ll check your insurance policy to see if your treatments are covered and what your deductible is.
Generally, most insurers cover larger varicose vein treatments for symptomatic, chronic venous insufficiency. However, many insurers don’t cover surface vein treatments. If you want a cost estimate after verifying coverage/benefits with your insurance company, just let us know, and we’ll be happy to provide one for you.
Costs & Quotes
While your insurance may cover the procedure(s), most patients will still have some out-of-pocket costs for each appointment as insurance doesn’t usually cover 100% of the cost. Please keep in mind that if Medicare or your commercial insurance policy does not cover charges, they will be collected at the time of service.
Also, insurance providers don’t guarantee the amounts quoted over the phone, so please stay actively involved if any denials occur or payments are delayed by your insurance provider. We will file all claims for procedures covered by Medicare or your commercial insurance policy. If you have secondary insurance, we’ll file claim forms for Medicare-covered procedures with your secondary.
Out-Of-Network Providers
For those who have out-of-network providers, we’ll still accept your insurance for payment, but your out-of-pocket costs may be affected. It’s important to note that even though your insurance may cover all or a portion of the evaluation, diagnostics, and procedures, we can’t guarantee this, and you’re responsible for payment of services rendered.
We encourage you to contact your insurance company before your first procedure to ask for an estimate of your out-of-pocket costs. We will happily provide you with a list of procedure codes (CPT codes) for the procedures you need so that you can obtain as accurate an estimate as possible.
Getting Started
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We want to make sure you have a smooth experience from start to finish.
What if I have a High Deductible Plan?
If you have a high deductible plan with an individual or family deductible or a maximum out-of-pocket expense of $2,500 or higher, please note that a payment of $500 will be required on the day of each procedure. This is because high deductible plans often require patients to pay a certain amount out of pocket before the insurance coverage kicks in. We understand that this can be a financial burden for some patients, and we are happy to work with you to establish a payment plan if needed. Additionally, we recommend that you contact your insurance provider to verify your benefits and determine how much you will be responsible for paying out of pocket.
When is my payment due?
We want to make sure you are fully informed about our payment policies. Each patient statement is due within 30 days of receipt, so please review it carefully and let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
If you have a balance on your account that is not paid in full by the due date, a late charge of 1% will be added monthly. We understand that unexpected financial situations may arise, so if you are experiencing difficulties paying your bill, please ask to speak with our practice administrator. We are committed to working with our patients to eliminate cost as a barrier to treatment.
We accept various payment options, including cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and Care Credit™. Additionally, if you are experiencing financial hardship, we offer reasonable payment plan options to help keep your account in good standing. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need any assistance or have any questions. We are here to help you in any way we can.
Do I need to bring my insurance card?
We kindly request that you bring your insurance card and driver’s license to your first appointment with us. This information helps us ensure that your insurance coverage is accurately reflected in your file, which can save you time and money in the long run. If your insurance coverage changes at any time, please don’t hesitate to let us know and bring your updated insurance card to your next appointment. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us provide you with the best possible care.
