“I love what I do and I hope it shows with every patient I treat. It is a privilege to be a part of helping people achieve healthier legs and healthier lives.”
Dr. Karamichos is a board-certified physician who specializes in venous and lymphatic medicine, who has over 16 years of experience in treating varicose vein disease and related disorders. In fact, he was one of the first physicians in the country to be certified by the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine in 2009!
Dr. Karamichos and his team at Region Vein are committed to providing minimally invasive treatment to their patients while treating them with respect and compassion. They understand the importance of individualized patient care, which is why Dr. Karamichos personally manages each patient’s treatment plan.
To further ensure the quality of care, Dr. Karamichos has earned the added credentials of Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) and Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI), which is the highest standard in vascular ultrasound interpretation.
Prior to starting his own vein practice in 2020, Dr. Karamichos was the Medical Director at Vein Clinics of America in Merrillville, one of the largest vein clinics in the nation, where he performed thousands of procedures.
At Region Vein, Dr. Karamichos is the only vein specialist in Northwest Indiana who is at the same location full-time, five days a week, and who exclusively treats varicose and spider veins. He is dedicated to helping his patients achieve healthier legs and provides individualized care to each patient.
Don’t be surprised if you see Dr. Karamichos out and about in Lake County, where he resides with his wife, two grown children, and an active Vizsla. He enjoys golfing at Centennial Park and Palmira golf courses, skiing, bowling, and attending classic car shows.
